The Construction Site based Site Operations Incident Manager role is to
work within the Site Operations Team, Reporting to the Site Operations Site
Lead (with a sub-report to the Emergency Preparedness Lead), taking
responsibility for the coordination of Construction Site Incidents, ensuring
compliance to the site Emergency Arrangements.
The role requires an industry leading value and commitment to delivering work safely.
The Site Incident Manager supports activities being undertaken in the
advance Works and site establishment programmes and will work closely
with the site principal contractor team to ensure activities are undertaken
safely.
It includes day to day management and coordination of the Site's
response, management and recovery of Construction Site incidents and
emergencies (which will include the Site's Associated Developments when
built).
A high level of stakeholder management and integration is required, with
particular focus on the Site's core incident response capability through the
Security Control Room, internal and external emergency responders and
the construction contractors.
About the Sizewell C project:
As part of our plan to secure a low-carbon energy future, EDF Energy is
leading the way in building a fleet of safe, reliable nuclear power stations in
the UK. Sizewell C (SZC) is a proposed new nuclear station that is being
developed with a target to start construction at the end of 2023.
It is a nationally significant infrastructure project with a very important role in the
UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. The project will have a big
impact in the drive to reduce carbon emissions in the UK.

Skill and Competencies
- Strong IT skills
- Experience in Microsoft and Google Applications
- Experience in managing an office environment
- Experience providing first line advice to internal and external customers
- Construction Site experience preferable
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Experience managing a database of logistical information, or relevant qualifications to
demonstrate capability (preferred but not required)
- Results orientated, team player, capable of managing emergency issues
- Ability to work independently and be proactive
- Excellent communication / interpersonal skills
- Discretion - Confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information

- A good standard of education in Maths and English.

Professional Qualifications/Memberships
- Ability to pass and hold National Security Clearance Vetting
- Knowledge of JESIP and or C3/4 principle
- Significant Project experience or demonstrable experience of other large and complex
activities, where responsible for incident or emergency response, or similar
- Essential - Understanding of the function and delivery of Principal Contractor Role in a civil
engineering/ Infrastructure environment. Preferably on medium to large scale infrastructure
civil projects

Our Perfect Worker
- Lead, plan, manage, monitor and coordinate the Site wide incident and emergency;
response, management and recovery mechanisms
- Support the SZC Emergency Preparedness Officer in; implementing the Off-Site Nuclear
Emergency Plans, supporting the liaison with external emergency responders and
supporting compliance to SZC's legal obligations and duties and supporting the Emergency
Preparedness team's training & exercising programme
- Be the point of contact for all SZC Contractor Partners and assist in developing their own
platform Incident Management Plans and ensuring integration with the SZC Emergency
Plan and arrangement from the entry of a new Site Contractor Partner to Site, understand their works activity,
throughout the lifecycle of their contract works, to ensure appropriate and commensurate
incident management plans are in place and training and specialist equipment needs are
identified and implemented
- Work closely with the relevant Service Delivery Managers in the procurement of Site based
emergency response, medical and rescue capability and facilities, commensurate to the
level of construction risk associated with the Integrated Work Schedule
- Assist the Emergency Preparedness team, to plan and implement Site Wide integrated
training exercises and drills and implement learning captured and similarly, assure Site
Contractor Partners are also conducting their own focussed training and exercise activities
- Plan for and eventually lead and direct, in close liaison with the Emergency Preparedness
team, the Incident Management and Exercise Team
- Plan for and eventually lead and direct the Incident Management and Exercise Team
(IMET)
- Support the on-going development of the construction site plot plan and input into design
requirements that will ultimately inform the Site Operations service provision, considering
incident and emergency management
- Work in close liaison with the Security Providers Security Control Room, the Site's incident
and emergency coordination hub, to ensure seamless and effective Command, Control,
Communication and Coordination practices, including oversight of the Site radio system
- Ensure that the Security Control Room has effective and fully integrated incident &
emergency actions, plans and protocols
Identify learning and improvement opportunities across the discipline
- Support the arrangements for managing health and safety throughout the construction phase.
