This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems for some of the largest Utility companies across the UK as part of the National Grid Technology Framework, to join as a Site Manager and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth.
As a Civil Site Manager, you will oversee and manage all civil engineering activities on electrical substation sites, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of works. You will be responsible for managing subcontractors, coordinating resources, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This role requires excellent leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of civil engineering, and experience working on electrical infrastructure projects.
What the Site Manager role entails:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the civil engineering works on electrical substation sites, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budget.
2. Coordinate and manage a team of subcontractors and site workers, ensuring quality standards are met.
3. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, site-specific risk assessments, and method statements.
4. Monitor and report on project progress, including budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
5. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
6. Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control procedures are adhered to.
7. Resolve any issues or challenges that may arise on site in a timely and efficient manner.
8. Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, timesheets, and documentation.
9. Ensure that all equipment and materials are available and properly maintained.
Key Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager in civil engineering, ideally with experience working on electrical substation projects or similar infrastructure projects.
2. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methodologies.
3. Experience managing teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
4. Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations, especially in high-risk environments.
5. Strong communication and organizational skills.
6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
7. A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (e.g., HNC, HND, or Degree).
8. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and CSCS card required.
9. A full UK driving license is essential.
