Job summary The creation of the NHS Wales Executive from 1 April 2023 is an essential part of making the health system in Wales fit for the future and achieving A Healthier Wales vision of a whole-system approach to providing excellent health and social care across Wales. Working on behalf of the Welsh Government, the Executive's role is to provide strong leadership and strategic direction and enable and support the delivery of national priorities and standards. Within the new NHS Wales Executive (the Executive), newly configured National Strategic Clinical Networks are a key component of the National Clinical Framework (NCF) model. National Strategic Clinical Networks perform the central role of the 'knowledge-to-practice element in the Learning Health and Care System laid out in the National Clinical Framework. Their position within the Executive enables them to play a role in fulfilling the expectations set out in the Executive's Mandate and Remit Letter. This is one of four Assistant Network Manager roles currently being advertised (Child Health, Diabetes and Neuro, Gastro, MSK). Main duties of the job Pro-actively facilitate agreement and approval of national optimal pathways, undertaking research and evidence review and using project methodology to agree scope, goals, deliverables, and benefits realisation plans to define project tasks and resource requirements, in complex multi-organisational environments. Review, analyse and interpret ongoing deliverables to assess the impact on achieving the wider Network objectives, and adjust plans accordingly. Make dynamic adjustments to ensure key milestones are met. Ensure outputs and deliverables are achieved in line with agreed milestone plans and delivery targets, identifying risks and initial remedial actions. Report any longer-term impact at strategic, organisational, or operational levels to enable the assessment of impact on the other work streams. Facilitate and support the formulation of the Network strategic plans, take ownership of actions, and enable relevant activities.
