Main Duties of the Job
The candidate will have the skills and abilities to:
1. Contribute in updating records of achievements (i.e., profiles, observations, care plans) to support the individual needs of the children/families.
2. Assist the management team (i.e., Deputy and Early Years Professional) to develop, implement and evaluate play and planning using the EYFS for the individual child and family.
3. Support the nursery team and management team in the delivery of the service and the development of quality care.
4. As a key carer, assist in the settling in programme to meet the child's/family's individual needs including first contact with the parent/carer.
5. Assist the nursery team when discussing nursery routines and procedures with new parents.
6. As part of the nursery team, observe, collate, present and record developmental milestones for children's individual profiles.
7. Ensure each family receives daily positive feedback.
8. Report concerns or family issues to the appropriate manager.
About Us
LTHT Nurseries provide 168 places per day across 3 sites: Clarendon Nursery, Mosaic Nursery, and Rosewood Nursery.
All 3 nurseries are rated 'Good' by Ofsted and pride ourselves on the excellent commitment our staff have to delivering the best quality childcare for all children.
To support the nursery team in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage across the setting to raise and maintain the excellence of the Early Years Provision through quality interaction with the children.
The postholder will work collaboratively with both the management team and as part of a team of up to 25 practitioners; assisting with meeting the individual needs of the children whilst sustaining good partnerships with up to 80 families/carers within the setting.
Job Responsibilities
It is essential that the jobholder holds a minimum level 2 childcare qualification recognised by Ofsted, but it is desirable that they are working towards a relevant level 3 qualification, NNEB, CACHE, BTEC, and NVQ level 3.
Experience
* The jobholder must have experience of working in a childcare setting.
* Observing and recording children's developmental milestones.
* Ability to support the Early Years Foundation Stage to meet children's individual needs.
* Working in partnership with parents/carers.

Person Specification
Experience
* A sound knowledge of child development for children under 5 years.
* A knowledge of Ofsted welfare requirements.
* Experience of gathering observations and evidence to record a child's progress.
* Experience of working in a busy daycare setting.
* Experience of partnership with parents.
Qualifications
* An Ofsted recognised level 2 qualification.
* Paediatric first aid.
* Food safety training.
* Safeguarding training.
