Job Details
This is a part-time permanent post of 18 hours per week. You will be based in Fife House Glenrothes within the Justice Social Work Team. You will hold a caseload and supervise Justice Workers within the team on a pro rata basis. You will have the opportunity to work in a blended workstyle. You will be required to compile statutory court reports and reviews and undertake supervisory responsibilities for a range of offence types including MAPPA Managed cases, Domestic Violence, Drug Treatment and Testing, and Youth Justice. You will provide operational management cover for the Team Manager as required and support the work and development of the Justice Workers and Social Workers in the team.
The role provides opportunities for the successful candidate to undertake further training as part of their professional development.
The Person
The successful candidate should have experience in case and risk management, including joint working with other professionals and services to improve outcomes for people while understanding and working to national standards and data protection guidelines.
Knowledge of risk assessing and its impact on service delivery is crucial. The successful candidate should demonstrate an understanding of the complexities of managing risk while supporting individuals.
Skills in report writing are essential as the Senior Practitioner role requires writing reports for the Court and other professional bodies. The successful candidate should be able to write factual and concise reports.
The ability to motivate, advise, and listen are key communication skills for the role, as the successful candidate will engage individuals with varying motivation and communication needs.
The successful candidate should have experience of empowering others to make positive lifestyle changes, promoting equality and diversity.
The successful candidate should be able to travel within Fife.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible to ensure you are registered within the required six months.
