About The Role: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to manage their behaviour and develop essential social and emotional skills. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities of Behaviour Support Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and group support to students, addressing behavioural and emotional challenges.
* Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement tailored behaviour management strategies.
* Promote a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere, ensuring students feel safe and supported.
* Monitor student progress and adapt approaches to meet individual needs.
* Assist in de-escalating challenging situations and implementing restorative practices.
* Support students with special educational needs (SEN) when required.
* Act as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive behaviour and personal growth.
The successful candidate will:
* Previous experience in a similar role or working with children is desirable.
* SEN experience is a bonus but not essential.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
* Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
