Job summary West Midlands Database - this system is a complex information database comprising of several modules which are integrated but operate in different ways. They produce intelligent data for the National Cervical Screening Service and the DoH to follow patient pathways. To lead and assist in the collation, input, monitoring and management of data and information of the West Midlands Colposcopy Database for the Leicester Colposcopy Service and to support other databases within the Colposcopy service in the future as required. To act as an initial point of contact for general IM&T support for administrative and clinical staff within the Colposcopy service and train users on the use of the West Midlands database. To extract data from the West Midlands database and provide summary information to illustrate clinical activity and performance. To participate in the quality assurance and checking accuracy of the West Midlands database to ensure the Colposcopy service is maintained and managed appropriately. To lead and assist with collating and inputting of service specific data into databases other than the West Midlands as required within the service. Participate in the identification and implementation of service improvements. Lead on the collation of statistical data for audit and research purposes, maintaining a high standard of data quality within the Colposcopy service. Main duties of the job Maintain, input and update all local colposcopy databases. Respond to requests on clinical activity and performance from a variety of sources which may involve extracting data from more than one database. One main source will be the Department of Health (DoH) where mandated data (KC65) is required on a quarterly basis. Monitor the Colposcopy database prior to clinics to allow data entry during clinical consultation and treatments. Collate required data sets to update and prepare Department of Health national returns (e.g. KC65) specific for the service. Ensure timely submission of mandated quarterly, annual and individual reports and as required. Prepare BSCCP external Quality Assurance audits providing evidence of compliance in line with local and national guidelines. Generate database reports and MDT lists for the Colposcopy team as part of the multi-disciplinary team meetings. Participate in coordinating and setting up for monthly MDT meetings and recording outcomes of discussions. Develop and maintain databases within the Colposcopy service enabling surveillance of patients with specified medical conditions. Produce process documentation and training material for colposcopy admin, data and clinical pathways. Contribute towards developing process pathways and process mapping activities. Assist in review, revision and maintaining of SOP documentation where applicable.
