The Vernon & Lanes Medical Centre is a fairly large practice with over 11,800 patients that we care for.
As you will have experienced as a patient, Doctors surgeries are very busy. It is a challenging environment requiring resilience and a positive attitude, even during difficult conversations.
You must be confident on the phone, as at least half of your day will be spent answering incoming calls and addressing immediate requests. You will also need to signpost patients to the correct clinician and have great attention to detail. Patient-facing duties will include working at the reception desk, along with IT-based administrative tasks.
A good grasp of verbal and written communication is essential, along with common sense to handle situations as they arise.
The team is supportive and enjoys socializing outside of work. When circumstances allow, we have practice social events during the summer and at Christmas, with informal gatherings in between.
We are an NHS Pension employer, contributing 14.8% of your salary to your pension.

The role will be part-time, with 15-20 set hours per week at our main surgery in Vernon Street Derby and our branch surgery in Littleover.
