Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior midwife to join our specialist midwifery team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust on a 12 month secondment. We are looking for an experienced and passionate clinical midwife interested in improving safety and outcomes for mothers and neonates to support in providing high quality and safe care to families at risk of a preterm birth. The role requires leadership and influencing skills, specialist knowledge of preterm birth, optimisation and stabilisation for preterm birth, alongside supporting with the regional Maternal Medicine network. The successful candidate will have oversight and support the development of processes. They will work in collaboration with existing leads for SBLCB, NHSR, preterm birth and public health along with colleagues from clinical effectiveness, neonatal teams, and governance teams. They will provide coordination of reporting and monitoring of preterm birth prevention and management in relation to SBLCB v3, Mat Neo SIP/NNAP and NHSR Maternity Incentive Scheme. They will provide support to the preterm prevention clinic providing clinical support to colleagues working in the antenatal clinic, including telephone consultations, and providing support for the women in the clinics. We are looking for a compassionate and approachable midwife whose role will be to achieve consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus.
