We are looking to recruit a dynamic Consultant to provide senior medical advice, support and clinical leadership in the Older Adult Community and Inpatients services for the north of Herefordshire. You will be joining a friendly and close-knit consultant body in the county. The Older Adult Community Mental Health team operates from Benet Building, Belmont, Hereford with patient contact being primarily in the community or via outpatient clinics. Inpatients wards are located in the Stonebow Unit, Hereford. You will be delivering ECT alongside other consultants and join 1:11 on-call rota. The overall sessional pay with on-call commitments will be 11 PAs plus 3% plus 1%. You will have a dedicated office and secretary. This post has been deemed by the Trust as eligible for relocation expenses for suitable successful candidate(s). Main duties of the job Main duties of the role include: Safely assess and manage patients Undertake MHA assessments as the approved doctor under Section 12(2) as required To carry a community caseload of patients To carry out outpatient clinics, home visits, and telephone conversations with service users To manage both functional and organic inpatients across 2 specialised wards, act as Clinical Lead and Responsible Clinician Providing Electroconvulsive therapy sessions in the county as part of a rota Work with local managers and professional colleagues To work as part of a multidisciplinary team To develop and maintain care pathways and pathways of communication with other services To liaise and give advice to other statutory/voluntary agencies Participate and contribute to a regular clinical audit process to ensure services are of a high quality and best clinical practice Undergo annual appraisal, develop a personal development plan and remain in good CPD standing with the RCPsych working towards relicensing and revalidation About us At Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, we are working together to deliver outstanding care.
