Apprentice Shuttering Carpenter (Buckinghamshire, HP22 4DB) Job Purpose: As a carpenter, you will be involved in cutting and building designs using different types of wood. They may work on civil engineering projects industrial or commercial developments, and multi-story housing, and usually work closely with engineering designers and construction workers. Carpenter / Joiner Responsibilities: • Measuring, marking up, cutting, shaping, fitting, and finishing timber • Using a range of hand and power tools • Putting up frames for bridges, roads, dams, and buildings • Gaining knowledge of different types of wood and their uses • Drawing and working with technical drawings • Installing floor joists, floorboards, roof trusses, and wall partitions • Fitting interiors such as staircases, doors, skirting boards, cupboards, and kitchens • Working in a workshop, on a construction site, or a client’s business or home, • Carrying out jobs in dusty conditions, or working outdoors in all weather and at height. About You Skills/Experience The following experience is required: • Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written work instructions from • supervisors and site managers. • Undertaking work in a reliable, safe, and productive manner. • Able to work effectively within a team. Requirements must have the following: • Green CSCS Card • Driving Licence and live within commutable distance to site Overview • Apprenticeship Standard: Carpentry NVQ Level 2. • Apprenticeship Length: 18 Months
