Leader Education are seeking a Graduate Learning Support Assistant (LSA), for a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) school in Newcastle and North Tyneside.
It is desirable for the successful LSA to have gained their degree in a relevant field or to have had recent experience in a similar role.
This position creates a fantastic opportunity for classroom development and a great way to get further exposure and experience. Leader Education can offer free training and continued personal development courses to further enhance the successful candidate's skills and training. This role will include working with children from Key Stage 1 through to 4 and will involve working 1:1 and in small groups.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will have:
* An enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one
* An ability to follow instructions, school's policies and procedures
* The ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others
* Patience and compassion for students
* A genuine interest in the well-being of all children
* The ability to support the teacher with planning lessons and activities
* A proactive personality and assistance with the preparation of materials for lessons
* Supervision skills during activities
* Good communication skills towards staff members, parents, and carers
* Support for students with their individual needs
* Maintain cleanliness and safety in the student's environment
