The Operations Controller is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and coordinating with each of the operations departments as needed to ensure the safe operation of every flight while providing the best possible service to our customers. This position involves proactively planning and anticipating for the operational needs of the company, works with all departments in operations and reports directly to the Ground Operations Manager. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The efficient processing and planning of Company aircraft operations in accordance with statutory requirements and Company policy as defined in the OM. Planning flight routes, taking into consideration weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and fuel requirements. Preparation and monitoring the validity of operations with regards to: Crew flight briefs Operational Flight plans, including airfield performance and airfield categorisation Flight Time Limitations (FTL) schemes Request slots/handling and permits as instructed by the Senior controllers or the SOP Work closely with scheduling, crew, maintenance teams, and ground services, to coordinate all aspects of a flight. This involves ensuring that all necessary resources are in place and that any potential issues or delays are addressed promptly. Stay informed about aviation regulations and ensure that all flights comply with local and international aviation laws. This includes obtaining necessary permits and documentation for international flights. Communicate with pilots, air traffic control, ground services, and other relevant parties to relay important information and coordinate activities. In the event of unexpected issues or emergencies, initiating and coordinating appropriate emergency responses. Such as launching an ERP, rerouting flights, addressing maintenance or crew issues. Maintain accurate records of flight plans, communication logs, and other relevant documentation. Monitor the progress of flights in real-time, ensuring that they are on schedule and that any deviations or issues are promptly addressed. Interact with Owner services to provide information about flight status, delays, or any other relevant details. Good customer service skills are important in this aspect of the role. Utilising the manuals and publications within the Company�s operations library: UK Air Pilot NOTAMS AIC (Aeronautical Information Circulars) ANO (Air Navigation Orders) and Regulations Company Operations Manuals Aeronautical Charts Assisting the Senior Operations Controller with aircrew scheduling in conjunction with relevant Business Manager and Fleet Captains Assisting the Managerial team with activating Operational Procedures, for example, Emergency Response Plans, Flight Watch and Overdue Aircraft Programmes where applicable. These procedures form part of the Company�s Safety and Quality Management Manual EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Must possess the legal ability to work in the United Kingdom. Minimum of 1 years� experience within an aviation environment preferably Business Aviation but not exclusive to. Minimum to have an understanding and of European Operations and flight planning. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook) Scheduling experience or experience in transport and logistic department is an advantage REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Must possess the legal ability to work in the UK. Candidate should work well in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to the changing needs of the business. Must be detail oriented and able to work productively, independently or within a team. Excellent oral/written communication and problem resolution skills are required. Further languages skills of advantage. Successful candidate will maintain a high level of professionalism while multi-tasking various real time issues in a fast paced environment. Must have excellent analytical skills Have a high level of professionalism and the ability to interact with all levels of leadership. SCHEDULE Ability and willingness to work early & late shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
