What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic and caring Play Worker to join our hard working and committed team in our successful afterschool club, Ark. The Ark provides a safe, inclusive and caring environment for children aged 4-11 attending our school.
No experience is necessary, other than a desire to work with children. Training will be given to the successful applicant as will the opportunity to shadow and work alongside long serving members of the Ark team. All Ark staff are Level 2 Food Hygiene trained, the successful applicant will be given the opportunity to undertake this training.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• actively working and participating under the direction of the Play Leader to provide extended opportunities for children to relax, learn and play;
• providing safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities;
• providing appropriate care, control and supervision of pupils in the Ark;
• helping prepare and serve breakfast / afternoon snacks;
• ensuring that each child’s wellbeing is met and they thrive in a safe environment.
Pay is under the Surrey Pay Scale Grade 3, currently £23,576 per annum (pro rata to £6,175.70 per annum for 11.25 hours per week, term time only). The hourly rate is: £12.56.
