Senior Interior Designer / Interior Architect [BTR, Co-living, Resident Amenity]
Ademchic Greater London, England, United Kingdom
Location: Hybrid (3-4 days in our Camden office, 1-2 days remote)
Are you ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic, close-knit studio setting? At Ademchic, we value creativity, ownership, and technical expertise. As part of our team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to truly own your projects, taking charge of client relationships and ensuring each project reflects our high standards.
You’ll be deeply involved in every stage, from concept (working alongside the Director) to completion, allowing you to shape our projects in ways that aren’t possible in larger studios. If you’re passionate about design and eager to see your ideas come to life, we’d love to hear from you!
About our team
We’re a collaborative team (8 people + 1 dog) working on high-impact residential projects, ranging from 9-unit boutique developments to 385-unit BTR schemes. 87% of our clients are returning customers, trusting us to bring fresh, distinctive ideas to each new site. We’re also expanding into the boutique hotel sector, so experience in hospitality interiors would be a strong advantage (but isn’t required).
We are now looking for a Senior Interior Designer / Interior Architect with experience in BTR schemes and co-living developments — someone who understands creating inviting communal spaces, balancing durability with design, and optimizing layouts for functionality and aesthetics. In this role, you will work independently to optimize apartment layouts, design resident amenity spaces, and create interiors that cater to a specific target audience. Additionally, you will oversee a small internal team responsible for delivering CGIs, VR show homes, marketing materials, and physical show homes/marketing suites—ensuring that every aspect of the design is executed seamlessly.
The role
This role requires a mix of design talent, technical expertise, and commercial awareness. You’ll be leading the interior design of multi-unit developments, working closely with clients, architects, and contractors, and ensuring that all design decisions align with project budgets. If you're excited by the idea of shaping high-end residential interiors, working with visionary developers, and leading projects from concept to completion, we’d love to hear from you!
The ideal candidate will have:
* BTR/Co-living and/or Hotel design experience – You have worked on build-to-rent schemes, shared amenity spaces, or hotel interiors and understand how to create designs that are both aesthetically compelling and operationally efficient.
* Strong Supplier Network – You know furniture, lighting, and material suppliers for high-traffic, commercial-grade interiors and can source and specify accordingly.
* Ademchic Style – Our clients come back to us because they love our modern, chic aesthetic. You should have a strong sense of style and be able to create concepts that fit seamlessly into our portfolio.
* Technical Ability – You can translate design concepts into precise, detailed technical drawings (AutoCAD/Archicad).
* Attention to Detail – You will be putting together development specifications, ensuring that contractors have all the information they need to deliver our designs as intended.
* Project Management Skills – You will be the main point of contact for the client, ensuring that designs move from concept to completion smoothly. You’ll also work closely with our Visualisation Team, Creative Director, and Graphic Designers to bring projects to life.
Day-to-day responsibilities
* Create design concepts for BTR and hospitality-focused developments, collaborating with the Director and our visualisation team to bring them to life in 3DsMax.
* Review apartment layouts & amenity spaces, suggesting value-adding changes while ensuring compliance with space standards & fire safety regulations.
* Be the main client contact and internal project manager, liaising externally with contractors & developers and internally with our Director, Operations and Design Teams.
* Work with suppliers, obtaining quotes, managing budgets, and ensuring materials and furniture meet both design and commercial objectives.
* Value engineer projects by balancing design aspirations with cost considerations, suggesting alternative materials and FF&E solutions that align with client budgets.
Qualifications and Skills
* 3+ years experience working on BTR, new build, or hospitality interiors.
* 5+ years experience managing projects and being the main client contact.
* Strong ability to execute concepts and translate them into detailed technical drawings (AutoCAD/Archicad).
* Experience working with contractors, developers, and suppliers to specify materials and manage budgets.
* Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch and/or 3DsMax knowledge is a bonus but not required.
What we Offer
* Creative Ownership – Lead projects from concept to completion, shaping designs in ways that aren’t possible in larger studios.
* Diverse Projects – Work on boutique residential developments, large-scale BTR schemes, and emerging hotel projects.
* Hybrid Work Model – Enjoy a mix of in-office collaboration (3-4 days/week) and remote flexibility (1-2 days/week).
* Generous Holiday Allowance – 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
* Beautiful Studio Space – Work from our sunny Camden office, designed to inspire creativity and collaboration.
* A Supportive Culture – Join a close-knit team that values creativity, technical excellence, and fresh ideas.
