As an M & E Design Manager, you will oversee the mechanical and electrical design phase (MEP) of high-profile projects. Your expertise will ensure compliance with industry standards while driving value and innovation for all building services. Key responsibilities include: Project Leadership: Manage the mechanical and electrical building services (MEP) design process, collaborating with MEP engineers, supply chain and the wider project team to meet project objectives and deadlines. Innovative Solutions: Deliver cost-effective, creative technical solutions that enhance project value and sustainability. Technical Excellence: Provide technical expertise, evaluate design options, and resolve issues to ensure seamless project delivery. Monitoring and Reporting: Attend design team meetings, manage relationships with MEP designers, track progress against design programme, and implement action plans to ensure timely delivery. Team Collaboration: Mentor and guide team members and share your experience promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. What We're Looking For Experience: Demonstrated track record as an M & E Design Manager (or similar as Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer, Precon M & E Design Manager, MEP Manager or Building Services Manager) ideally within the refurbishment and fit-out sector, preferably managing projects valued between £5-30 million and managing multi-disciplinary teams. Expertise: Proficient in interpreting drawings, technical specifications, building regulations specifically related to mechanical and electrical building services. Qualifications: Minimum level 4 qualification (ONC/NVQ4) or equivalent. Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services related degree and MCIOB desirable. Mindset: Positive, adaptable, and driven to deliver risk-free, innovative design solutions. Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all stakeholders including customers. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to mechanical and electrical building services (MEP, HVAC) design. Attention to Detail: Ability to interpret detailed information and check that it meets specifications and cost plans. Why Join Us?
