We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to effectively grow our client’s current market share within the Swimming and Timing products marketplace and to generate sales to the agreed levels.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience of working in a Customer/Sales Services Department preferable within the sports industry.
AUTHORITY LIMITS/DIMENSIONS
Financial
1. Cost expenditure within budgeted project costings
2. Sales target and profit margin target to be agreed on commencement.
3. Expenses consistent with company policy
Non-Financial
4. Ensure full compliance with all Health, Safety and Welfare requirements within Congleton HQ
5. Territory covered – UK.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing
6. In conjunction with the Sales Manager, produce and update the company’s annual sales budget detailing potential opportunities for increased sales prior to the commencement of the financial year (January to December)
7. Source and develop new business opportunities with existing and new customers.
8. Obtain market intelligence re competitor activity.
Promotion/Advertising
9. Assist in development of promotional material/planning of trade shows.
10. Assist in the annual advertising programme.
Market Testing
11. Carry out new product market testing.
Pricing
12. Determines product pricing, labour cost rates and discounts in conjunction with the Sales Manager
Sales
13. Successfully promote and sell a range of aquatic and timing products from leading brands including Beco, Colorado timing systems, MyLaps, Finish Lynx Freelap, calling customer as required.
14. Ensure maximum coverage of the sales territory and generate new accounts through business-to-business sales calls and relationship building.
15. Plan and arrange visits to potential new and existing customers within the sales area.
16. Log/monitor all pending sales quotations, service-related communication and follow up sales opportunities including phone calls.
17. Utilise HubSpot system and target potential repeat sales, maintain records of new and existing customers, and update all communication as appropriate.
18. Process sales invoices and purchase orders using the Cin7 invoicing platform.
Preparation of Proposals
19. Prepare and submit proposals to potentially new & existing customers.
20. Follow up proposals to secure sales.
Customer Care and Communication
21. Service existing accounts and manage customer /supplier relationship to ensure retention of the customer.
Stock Control
22. Help to ensure sales stock is accounted for and maintained to appropriate levels.
23. Order equipment from suppliers using the internal purchase order process.
24. Receive timing equipment from supplier, visually check for damage, test for effective function and store appropriately.
Reporting
25. Report back monthly to Sales Manager with updates and forecasts for sales.
Events
26. Work at events as required.
Continuous Improvement
27. Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales function through continuous/process improvement.
General
28. Drive Company and hire vehicles. Applies When driving test is passed and insurance approved.
