The Emergency Department at the BGH is a busy department and has on average 33,000 attendees per annum. The BGH is situated 30 miles south of Edinburgh in a very picturesque location with access to world famous mountain biking, lovely coast line and hill walking to cater to all levels of fitness and interest. It has Train access to Scotland’s capital and could be considered as a commuter post, though I would suggest living locally to enjoy all the benefits supplied by the local area.
The workforce model has had an ACP in post for 2 years and we are in a great position of being able to recruit to 2 additional ACPS. Using advanced clinical knowledge and skills you will be working with Emergency Medicine consultants, Senior middle grade specialists Doctors, trainee Doctors, Clinical Development Fellows as well as a very experienced nursing team. The department also has the specialist input from AHPs for rapid assessment aiming for discharge home. We strive to deliver safe and high quality emergency care for the Borders population. The ED also has a Minor Injuries service run by Emergency Nurse Practitioners 7 days a week.
You should be a registered Nurse or Paramedic who has with an MSc or PG Diploma in Advanced Practice, be a registered prescriber with a broad range of knowledge and skills and extensive experience from across specialties.
