We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Assistant SENDCo to join a dedicated team at a vibrant school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to support their provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, working alongside an experienced SENDCo and leadership team. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as an Assistant SENDCo:
* Support the SENDCo in leading the day-to-day operation of SEND provision across the school
* Work with staff, pupils, and families to ensure children with additional needs are fully supported to achieve their potential
* Assist in the identification, assessment, and monitoring of pupils with SEND
* Support the writing, reviewing, and implementation of EHCPs, Individual Support Plans and personalised interventions
* Help organise and deliver training and support for staff regarding inclusive teaching strategies
* Liaise with external agencies and professionals where appropriate
* Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and achievement for all pupils
Ideal Assistant SENDCo:
* Holds QTS and has experience of working with pupils with SEND
* Is passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners
* Has excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills as an Assistant SENDCo
* Works collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies
* Understands current SEND legislation, the Code of Practice, and inclusive classroom strategies
* (Desirable) Has completed, is working towards, or is willing to undertake the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
