Role Overview
My client is a dynamic and growing scaffolding provider, and we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team in Redditch. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in shaping our projects by preparing accurate cost estimates, assessing project requirements, and working closely with the team to ensure seamless execution from tender to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator with a strong background in the house building or construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare Accurate Estimates: Develop comprehensive cost estimates for scaffolding projects using Strikesoft (training provided if needed), covering labour, materials, equipment, and project timeline.
* Conduct Feasibility Studies: Assess project requirements and conduct feasibility studies to determine material, labour, and resource needs, ensuring cost-effective and practical solutions.
* Cost Control and Budgeting: Monitor and manage project budgets to ensure costs remain within the estimated limits, making adjustments where necessary.
* Interpret Design Drawings: Review and interpret design plans and blueprints to understand project scope and deliver precise estimates.
Requirements
* Education: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is essential.
* Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within the house building or construction industry, particularly in house-building or scaffolding.
* Skills: Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Software Proficiency: Familiarity with cost estimation software (experience with Strikesoft is advantageous but not required – full training will be provided).
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
* Technical Understanding: A solid understanding of construction processes, design drawings, and cost management principles.
