Our client who Specialising in the storage and distribution sector are currently recruiting for a Supervisor to become an integral part of their team.
Hours of work
Sunday 1pm -9pm
Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm
Duties:
Ensure all stock deliveries, daily store orders, allocations, launch stock are always delivered accurately and on time, whilst operating in a safe working environment.
Responsible for all H&S issues within the area they supervise and to notify manager of any H&S incidents or near misses they see anywhere around the site.
To be involved in the RTW procedure for the staff on their teams working with the manager to ensure a consistent approach to the absence policy.
To inform their line manager of dept performance both verbally and in report form
To be involved in performance management of any staff not hitting required capability or conduct levels in accordance with the escalation process.
To ensure hygiene standards are at the required level.
To work with the manager to improve efficiency across their department.
To manage the holiday planning on their dept so that all roles are covered with enough staff to ensure daily targets are met and we use a fair and consistent approach in terms of staff holiday booking.
To be flexible in terms of working hours and be able to work the required hours to ensure completion of all aspects of the role to a high standard.
To build close working relationships with other areas of the site
To ensure all workload targets are met as a minimum requirement daily, in line with business expectations.
Skills needed to do role:
Knowledge of computer systems and email.
To be able to motivate a team to achieve stretching targets.
Good people management skills.
Able to deal with unexpected challenges on a regular basis.
Good organisational skills.
Ability to build long lasting relationships with other areas of the business.
Good communication skills.
Quick at picking up new processes.
Be able to hold briefings.
Requirements for this role:
Flexibility of working hours and be able to work the required hours to ensure completion of all aspects of the role to a high standard.
A minimum of 2 years management or supervisory experience within a Warehouse or Distribution centre is essential.
Physically fit and able to complete manual labour.
Good English language, reading, writing and speaking.
Knowledge of picking and general warehousing duties.
