Axon Moore has been exclusively retained to recruit a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a high-growth, specialist financial services group. This is a newly created, board-level role offering the opportunity to play a pivotal part in a business on the cusp of significant transformation.
With a unique market position and a niche financing product, the company is well-capitalised following significant investment and is preparing for its first public debt offering, followed by a potential IPO. The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO and supported by a strong finance team including a Group Financial Controller, the CFO will provide strategic leadership across financial planning, capital markets strategy, and external stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will drive the financial narrative of the business both internally and externally, ensuring it is ready for the scrutiny of public markets.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Leading preparations for a public debt offering, working with rating agencies and institutional investors.
* Shaping and executing strategies for a potential IPO, including liaising with external advisors and ensuring robust financial disclosures.
* Acting as the company’s financial ambassador to investors, analysts, lenders, and key stakeholders.
* Providing strategic financial counsel to the Board and CEO, with a focus on capital structure, M&A opportunities, and value creation.
* Overseeing financial governance, risk management, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A proven track record as CFO or senior finance executive within a high-growth or PE-backed business.
* Previous experience leading an IPO or major capital markets transaction.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a strong presence in investor-facing roles.
* Deep understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and governance in a regulated environment.
* A strategic mindset combined with operational credibility and the ability to lead through change.
This is a hybrid position, with regular travel expected between London and Manchester – the business's primary hubs.
