A rare opportunity has come up for a band 5 occupational therapist to join the MHSOP community team covering Middlesbrough.
Main duties of the job
You will work between the functional and organic teams within the service. Our organic team supports those in the Middlesbrough area who are seeking assessment for dementia. Whilst our functional team have oversight of patients within the area who may require support and intervention from a secondary mental health service where they may also have a physical frailty.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
2. Registration with HCPC
3. Willingness to undertake the Preceptorship Programme and Competency Framework (within an agreed timescale)
Experience
Essential
4. Experience of working in a variety of occupational therapy practice areas whilst on student placements
Desirable
5. Experience of working with service users with mental health conditions or learning disabilities
Knowledge
Essential
6. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
Skills

7. Communicate complex and sensitive information in a manner appropriate to the individual and situation.
8. Record keeping and report writing.
