Our client is a well-established and reputable groundworks and civils company based in South Wales, specialising in large-scale infrastructure and civil engineering projects. With a strong track record in delivering high-quality projects, they are now looking to expand their team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor who has significant experience in reinforced concrete works.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of cost management for groundworks and civils projects, including reinforced concrete structures.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
Assess and monitor project progress to ensure that work is carried out to the agreed cost and timeline.
Work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to provide accurate cost reporting and manage variations.
Carry out value engineering and cost analysis to maximise profitability.
Advise on contractual and commercial matters, and resolve disputes as required.
Lead the procurement process for subcontractors and materials.
Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors within the team.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or civils sectors, with a focus on reinforced concrete works.
Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management techniques.
Experience in managing and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar discipline.
MRICS (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
