Currently we have a vacancy for 34.5 hours per week at Band 7 for an Emergency Care Practitioner with experience in minor injuries, ailments and booked urgent care appointments to work within our Weymouth Urgent Treatment Centre, Minor Injury Units and Integrated Urgent Care Service.
We are looking for a motivated, highly competent and caring individual who possesses the ability to practice as an autonomous practitioner, ideally with experience in an urgent or emergency care setting. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an aptitude to practice at an advanced level, offering support and role modelling to colleagues whilst assisting in the development of the team and the service. We will make a commitment to you that your training and development needs will also be supported.

Main duties of the job
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for you to work in the vibrant and dynamic environment of the Weymouth Urgent Treatment Centre and Dorset HealthCare Minor Injury Units. As part of the Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Service (DIUCS) you will play a crucial role in delivering a co-ordinated and collaborative urgent care response to the patients of Dorset, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of minor injuries and minor ailments. We are looking for candidates that can deliver an excellent standard of patient care demonstrating advanced clinical practice and decision making skills.
The Weymouth Urgent Treatment Centre is central to the delivery of patient care in the local community and consistently receives positive patient feedback. The multi-disciplinary team, consisting of nurses, paramedics, skilled healthcare assistants and doctors are committed to delivering timely and efficient care as part of their partnership with DIUC's, which includes the minor injury units. This role offers the opportunity to have a presence working across sites and services within DIUCS.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
