We have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Receptionist / Administrator to join our team here at Western Counties Equine Hospital in Devon!
Nestled in rural Devon in a peaceful, tranquil environment yet easily accessible being only a 10-minute drive from Junctions 26 and 27 of the M5.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday 08.30am to 17.30pm with 1:6 share of the Saturday rota 08.30am to 13.00pm.
As a Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their horses. You will need to be able to work well within a team as well as working individually, however support from your peers is always on hand. We are a professional and personable team working in a very challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, and interesting where no day is ever the same!
You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and also show empathy towards everything that is thrown at you, from sharing the excitement of a client purchasing their first horse or comforting a client who has received some bad news regarding their horse.
Day-to-day duties of the role will include answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, registering new clients, completing insurance forms, dispensing medications, taking payments and most importantly providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the clinic.
Previous receptionist or customer-facing experience is essential. Previous veterinary industry experience and equine knowledge would also be highly beneficial. Most importantly, we are looking for a team player who is flexible and adaptable - as there are so many aspects to the role, we need someone who is quick-thinking and willing to learn! You will have strong communication skills, be able to prioritise work and manage time efficiently. You will ideally be adept at using Microsoft and be able to work on your own and equally well as part of a team.
The salary for this position will be in line with National Minimum Wage.
