We are currently recruiting for a Mental Health Act Administrator Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Harrow. Cygnet Hospital Harrow provides a recovery focused service treating a wide range of mental health problems. We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Our acute in-patient psychiatric services offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment for individuals with a wide range of psychological and emotional problems, including those who are detained under the Mental Health Act. Your day-to-day Scrutinising all legal documentation relating to patients' detention and ensuring it is accurate and within good practice, according to the Mental Health Act (1983) as amended 2007. To ensure that all procedures and protocols are adhered to, in the administration of the Mental Health Act. Ensure day to day compliance with the Code of Practice, Mental Health Act [ Click Apply] [ Click Apply]. Ensure that the hospital's legal responsibilities relative to the detention patients, care and treatment of its service users are met at all times, including ensuring patients are informed of their Rights in a timely manner under the Mental Health Act Ensure the records of all detained patients are maintained within statutory time limits and adhere to statutory requirements, including Renewal of Section and Consent to Treatment. Ensure all legal documents are stored securely at all times. Maintain confidentiality at all times while communicating effectively with various external and internal stakeholders, such as MDT, the Mental Health Act Commission, the Mental Review Tribunal, solicitors, the Home Office, GPs, social workers, service users, and their relatives Ensure all provisions and procedures in relation to Mental Health Tribunals are met as appropriate and in a timely manner. Work closely with medical and nursing staff to ensure documentation is completed and submitted on time and to a high standard. Maintain good working relationships with the CQC, Ministry of Justice, solicitors advocates, carers and family members. Provide well-informed decisions relating to Mental Health Act when requested by all professionals responsible for patient care. Provide information and assist patients and relatives when requested. To keep abreast with changes in the Mental Health Act and communicating the changes to all professionals involved with patient care. Maintain an accurate computerised database of patients' record and a good filing system. We are looking for people who have Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Extensive experience in audit and compliance. Ability to work well under pressure. Exceptional administration and organisational skills ensuring deadlines are met. Coaching skills as well as the ability to challenge and direct staff on the use of the Mental Health Act. Ability to read, understand, interpret and apply relevant legislation and current case law relating to the Act. Why Cygnet?
