Intermediate/Senior Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure Projects\n\nLocation: Sheffield, United Kingdom\n\nAbout the Role:\nI am seeking an experienced and proactive Intermediate/Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an expanding infrastructure team based in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class consultancy firm with a reputation for delivering high-quality, impactful projects across multiple sectors including rail, water, aviation, nuclear, and highways.\n\nAs an Intermediate/Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing and delivering major infrastructure projects, from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive commercial and cost management services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities (Varies across levels):\n\nLead and manage cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for infrastructure projects.\nProvide robust commercial management services throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement advice, contract management, and risk management.\nPrepare detailed cost reports, tender documents, and bills of quantities.\nConduct value engineering and cost control exercises to maximize project efficiency.\nAdvise clients on procurement strategies, contractual matters, and project delivery models.\nAdminister contracts, including reviewing and negotiating contract variations and claims.\nCollaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure effective communication and delivery of project objectives.\nContribute to the growth and development of the infrastructure business by identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in service delivery.\nKey Skills and Experience:\n\nDegree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.\nMRICS or working towards achieving chartered status (preferred).\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on infrastructure sectors such as rail, water, aviation, nuclear, or highways.\nStrong knowledge of NEC forms of contract.\nExcellent commercial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, financial forecasting, and cost reporting effectively.\nA proactive, solution-oriented approach with excellent problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.\nAbility to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.\nWhat We Offer:\n\nA competitive salary and benefits package.\nContinuous professional development and training opportunities.\nThe chance to work on iconic infrastructure projects that contribute to the future of the UK’s transportation, energy, and environmental sectors.\nA supportive and collaborative working environment that fosters growth, innovation, and progression within the infrastructure space.\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading consultancy firm and make a significant impact on some of the most exciting infrastructure projects in the UK.
