The Integration Lead for SHEQ and Sustainability is responsible for aligning Safety, Health, Environment Quality (SHEQ) and Sustainability standards and policies between the acquiring company and the acquired business. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, minimises operational risks, and fosters a culture of operational excellence. The role will be expected to manage multiple acquisitions concurrently at different stages and ensure that they are ready to move into business-as-usual operations within the MARCH company structure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the integration of SHEQ and Sustainability policies, procedures, and management systems across the merged entities.
2. Conduct SHEQ and Sustainability due diligence assessments and identify gaps or risks in compliance, safety, and environmental performance.
3. Develop and implement SHEQ integration plans, including training programs, audits, and process harmonisation.
4. Ensure adherence to relevant regulations (e.g. HSE, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001) and industry best practices, including EcoVadis.
5. Work closely with operations teams to maintain workplace safety standards during the transition.
6. Understand how the acquisition will fit with the existing business structure and expectations on how the team will fit within our existing organisational structure.
7. Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track SHEQ and Sustainability performance and integration progress.
8. Support cultural integration by promoting a unified approach to safety and quality SHEQ and Sustainability.
9. Provide SHEQ and Sustainability-related guidance and risk mitigation strategies to senior management.
Skills and Experiences:
1. Strong knowledge of SHEQ regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
2. Experience in M&A integration or change management is a plus.
3. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to travel as needed for site visits and assessments.
Specific Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
