Job Description – Production Engineer
Reporting to: Head of Operations

About the Role:
The role of the Production Engineer involves managing all production engineering activities at the Wombourne site. This includes part routing, labor costing, work instructions, production tooling and jigs, machine programming and maintenance, new product introduction, and build reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the production department to ensure the company’s products are manufactured on time, correctly, and at the lowest practical cost in line with customer demand.
Ensure plant and resources are adequately maintained to enhance longevity and support the production plan.
Maintain a safe and productive environment for all departmental staff.
Promote lean practices across the production engineering department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Develop and empower engineering staff to maximize their potential, creating an environment where skills, flexibility, and attitude are recognized and rewarded.
Enforce discipline within the department in line with company procedures.
Provide technical support and assistance to the Facilities Manager.
Coach and mentor engineering apprentices.
Support the technical team with the requirements of current electrical standards.
Participate in the Health & Safety committee.Skills & Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of production engineering experience in a low to medium volume, high mix production environment.
Experience in electronics and/or electro-mechanical assembly environments is highly desirable.
Degree/HNC/HND in an engineering or science-related discipline is preferred.
Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Proficient in using computer programs, particularly Excel.
CNC and programming experience is advantageous.
Electrical and CAD experience is preferred.Benefits:
