The role
As a Marine Engineering Training Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be providing specialist engineering and nuclear expertise to the training design process.
Day to day you’ll collaborate with an Astute-class Training Service team to help train the current and next generation of Submarine Service engineering professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver classroom and simulator based training to Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operators and Marine Engineering Equipment Maintainers.
* Collaborate with the training design team to update the courseware based on technical changes and identify the impact of those changes.
* Provide SME support to evaluate technical data and notifications of change on existing Marine Engineering and Nuclear Steam Raising Plant courseware.
* Deliver additional training (Confined Space, Working at Height, etc.) to students outside the ACTS program, ensuring it meets prescribed quality and cost standards.
* Support the routine review and revision of the courseware.
This role is full time, working 37 hours per week and will be based on site near Helensburgh.
Essential Experience:
* Comprehensive knowledge of Naval Nuclear Steam Raising Plant operation.
* Recent experience in this field with both up-to-date knowledge and hands-on practical skills.
* Comfortable working both collaboratively and autonomously.
* Be an engaging communicator with the ability to capture audience attention and deliver information effectively.
Qualifications:
* Royal Navy Submarine Service: Category A or B Watchkeeping Qualification.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
