Senior Investment Analyst

The key purpose of this role is to assist the Director of Acquisitions and Director of Finance by undertaking investment analysis to evaluate potential opportunities under different structures. Applying financial modelling to evaluate results and outcomes and presenting discussion papers to internal and external stakeholders.
To be considered for this role you must have advanced Excel skills, strong analytical skills with a logical, detail-oriented approach, a hands-on approach to data analysis, highly organized and capable of managing complex data sets along with at least 3 years of UK-based work experience in a similar analytical role.
This would make an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a data-driven environment with prior experience in financial data analysis being essential.
This role currently has a specialist focus on joint ventures.
You will monitor and report on the current portfolio of our student buildings, which includes:
* Collaborating with internal departments to compile investor reports.
* Reviewing and reporting on performance of existing assets for internal and external stakeholders.
* Tracking, reviewing, and administering property level requests from other departments ensuring that these processes are in line with investor expectations.
* Presenting data and analysing for internal review.
You will also assist with investment analysis for future investment opportunities, which includes:
* Understanding the investor return requirements including financial performance metrics such as yields, IRR’s, equity multiples etc.
* Collaborating with internal departments to gather information required for feasibility studies.
* Creating financial models to appraise opportunities and forecast return for investors.
* Stress testing financial models to account for property market conditions.
* Providing material to lending banks to satisfy their income and coverage test requirements.
Other key tasks will include:
* Researching general market conditions and how they affect the investors’ appetite.
* Research and monitor the UK PBSA market.
* Monitoring other interest rates to ensure they are aligned with model assumptions.
* The review of legal documentation for investment structures and terms and conditions with loan facilities.
* Completion of monthly analysis reports.
The ideal candidate needs to be:
* Comfortable around Excel spreadsheet creation, manipulation (and any other modelling tools)
* Disciplined and analytical approach. Problem solver: an ability to view things holistically to ensure that things are not taken at face value and always asking “does this make sense?”
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact at all levels
* Work in a structured and methodical manner, deadline oriented

We are looking to appoint a successful candidate in this position who is educated to a degree level and that ideally has an understanding of the investment, financial services and property including relevant working/placement experience.
