We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Private Client Tax Senior Manager / Director to join our tax advisory practice.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager to play an integral role in helping to shape our growing Private Client Tax practice. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to take ownership of strategic client relationships, lead complex advisory projects, and drive the growth of the firm’s private client offering. You will work directly with partners and other senior leaders to design and implement strategies that enhance client value, grow the practice, and develop the next generation of talent within the team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership: Support the leadership of the private client tax function, contributing to the overall direction and growth strategy of the department.
2. Advisory Excellence: Provide strategic, high-level tax advice to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), entrepreneurs, family offices, and trustees on complex issues, including:
1. Residence and domicile matters.
2. Inheritance tax (IHT) planning and wealth preservation strategies.
3. Trust creation, structuring, and management.
4. Succession planning for business and personal assets.
5. Tax-efficient investments and international tax planning.
3. Business and Market Development: Collaborate with partners to drive business growth by identifying and pursuing opportunities to win new private client work. This includes preparing and delivering pitches, attending networking events, building relationships with potential clients and intermediaries, and developing innovative service offerings.
4. Client Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to key clients, developing and maintaining long-term relationships and identifying new opportunities for value-added services.
5. Team Leadership and Development: Mentor, coach, and develop team members at all levels, ensuring technical excellence and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
6. Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of legislative and regulatory changes, offering clients proactive advice and contributing to the firm’s thought leadership through publications, seminars, and events.
What We Are Looking For:
1. Extensive Private Client Tax Expertise: Significant experience in private client tax advisory, particularly with HNWIs, UHNWIs, trusts, and estate planning.
2. Proven Leadership Skills: A track record of managing and developing high-performing teams, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and lead by example.
3. Exceptional Client Relationship Management: The ability to build and maintain trusted, long-term client relationships and deliver outstanding service.
4. Strategic Vision: Strong commercial acumen and the ability to contribute to the strategic growth of the business, identifying market opportunities and driving innovation.
5. Technical Excellence: Deep technical knowledge of UK personal taxation, international tax matters, trusts, and succession planning, with the ability to deliver complex advice clearly and confidently.
6. Professional Qualifications: CTA/STEP-qualified or equivalent, with extensive post-qualification experience in private client tax.
7. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of engaging clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
8. Proactive and Organized: Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
