You will be leading a multi-faceted technical team, which houses many well-known lifestyle Sports and Lifestyle brands. This role would cover Apparel, Footwear and Accessories.
Leading all technical development, you will strive for quality and excellence, and have the acumen to develop and educate your team. You will build effective strategies to achieve departmental and business KPI’s and work closely and in synergy with the Directors across the Group.
I have worked extensively with this business over the last 14mths, and they show no sign of slowing down!
Technical Manager- The Role
* Manage the team of Garment Technologists to ensure all workload is carried out and completed.
* Work across all the named brands product areas of apparel, accessories & footwear.
* Set up new systems and processes to better streamline the technical function of the business.
* Setting up required quality manuals where necessary.
* Build strong relationships with the factories, team and customers.
* Work with the brands managers across functions to ensure work processes are identified and met for efficient day to day running.
* Attend CAD Review meetings – Oversee risk assessments, construction, fabric, factory allocations.
* Update brand manuals for testing and compliance requirements – working with the factories to make sure these are maintained, reviewing, and providing manuals for the group.
* Be responsible for setting base and bulk testing requirements/ REACH standards.
* Set up Restricted Substance List Manual to ensure all factories are aware.
* Support the team to resolve quality issues with factories.
* Factory/Supplier Compliance - Audits, Corrective Action Plan (“CAP”), Development Action Plans
* Supplier and factory visits and inspections.
* Implement digital product passports across group brands.
* Create a brand block library, ensuring these are consistent to brand standard and cohesive across all ranges for Apparel & Accessories.
* Send and communicate block standards across all factories to ensure consistency of fit is maintained season to season.
* Review customer feedback on fit concerns, using the ecommerce analysis to ensure we are reactive and rectify fit issues, contribute to initiatives to reduce customer returns.
* Set up and instil companywide green agenda for sustainability with regards to factories/ production/ new initiatives.

Technical Manager- The Person
* Minimum 10+ years’ experience within a Technical role.
* Previous technical management experience.
* The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge across multiproduct for both Menswear and Womenswear
* Strong understanding of pattern cutting and grading.
* Be ready to lead
* Proven experience of managing and developing a team
* Happy to travel overseas as and when the business requires you to
* Flexible approach to be able to adjust to changing needs of the business.
* Experience in working with sustainable products would be beneficial.
