Position: Commercial Manager
Location: Brighton or Chatham with hybrid working
Salary: 90-110k neg (DOE), bonus, car/allowance and excellent benefits package
Our Client: An integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector with over 1,000 staff across eight regional centres, supporting six long-term water sector frameworks.
The Role: Our Client seeks a Commercial Manager for their CMDP joint venture framework. Based in either Brighton or Chatham, you will lead the commercial delivery teams and core team commercial functions for the CMDP business.
CMDP is a joint venture delivering schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water's water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of its region (Kent & East Sussex).
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Commercial management of project performance.
2. Providing commercial & contractual support to the procurement team.
3. Inputting to the continuous development of CMDP commercial strategy for pre-works orders & construction phase.
4. Leading the commercial team in the tranche programme.
5. Reviewing commercial resource levels with the Programme Manager for effective delivery.
6. Advising on commercial resourcing requirements.
7. Supporting recruitment of commercial resources.
8. Providing contractual and commercial training to CMDP staff.
9. Reviewing and developing commercial processes and procedures.
10. Undertaking approvals in accordance with the CMDP authority matrix.
11. Deputising for the Senior Commercial Manager as required.
Experience:
1. A comprehensive level of commercial experience, preferably with a contracting organisation.
2. BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent construction-related subject.
3. Professionally qualified to RICS, CMinstCES, or several years' experience in a management & leadership role.
4. NEC3 Contract experience.
5. Preferably previous water/construction experience within a joint venture environment (not essential).
6. Experienced user of Microsoft products, particularly Excel.
7. Experience & Knowledge of IT reporting systems.
