Engineering and Manufacturing T Level Placement
During your placement, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about BAE Systems and the engineering and manufacturing work we do. You’ll be able to apply your learning from the classroom and develop technical skills in the workplace.
This 30 - 45 day placement will include time at our training facilities and our on-site workplaces, gaining experience by contributing to real projects.
The placement will run between October 2025 and February 2026, and specific dates will be communicated if your application is successful.
Following your placement, you could be offered a full-time position on one of our apprenticeship schemes, starting in autumn 2026.
Entry Requirements
You must be on track to achieve 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4 (or equivalent), including mathematics, English, and a science/technology subject by August 2025.
You must also be completing the engineering and manufacturing T-Level and be in your second year of study by the time the placement starts.
Export Control/Security
Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must achieve at least the Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
Training
When you join a BAE Systems placement, you’ll be joining a workforce of over 100,000 people in around 40 countries – it’s a place where difference is celebrated, ideas are shared, and ambitions are fulfilled. You’ll launch and grow your career in an inclusive and diverse culture that inspires us all to be our best and make a real difference - protecting those who protect us.
Around 99% of apprentices choose to stay on with us after completing their apprenticeship, and we’re ranked as an “Outstanding” provider by Ofsted and 6th in the Department for Education’s Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers.
