We are now seeking an experienced Rents Recovery Officer to play a key role in managing rent arrears and ensuring income collection is maximised while providing excellent customer service. You will work proactively to support tenants, helping them maintain their tenancies while taking appropriate action on rent non-payment. Key Details Location: Teddington, London (3 days WFH) Salary: £35,814 per annum plus full benefits package and flexible working Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Key Responsibilities Managing income collection across all tenure types, ensuring high customer care standards. Handling rent arrears cases and working with customers to negotiate tailored payment solutions. Engaging with tenants via phone, home visits, and in-person appointments to provide financial support and guidance. Preparing and issuing legal documents for rent arrears cases, attending court hearings, and progressing enforcement actions when necessary. Supporting customers with benefit claims (Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, etc.) and signposting additional support services. Liaising with external agencies, including local authorities and the Department for Work and Pensions. Recommending cases for debt collection or write-off where appropriate. About You Experience in debt recovery, income collection, or a target-driven role. Understanding of legal procedures related to rent arrears, including preparing court documents and representing cases in court. Knowledge of housing-related benefits and welfare support services. Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure positive outcomes.
