Company Accountant Working for a modern family run business, that currently turns over in excess of £10 million. They have been established since the late 1940’s working with globally recognised companies. They are now seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to head their dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial services and accounting software, with a focus on delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis. This role is essential in ensuring the integrity of our financial data and supporting the overall financial management of the organisation. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and records in compliance with relevant regulations. Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping. Utilise accounting software such as SAP, Xero, Sage, to perform daily accounting tasks. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making. Mentor staff members in accounting practices and software usage to enhance team capabilities. Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights that drive business performance. Vat returns Payment of GBP/ foreign suppliers Posting of financial transactions from company bank accounts Skills Proficient in financial accounting principles and practices. Strong knowledge of accounting software including SAP, Xero, Sage etc. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders. Experience in mentoring or training others is advantageous. Familiarity with financial management concepts and practices is preferred.
