About the role An opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager position in our Intervention and Planning team. We believe that with excellent practice leadership, support and supervision professional social work can thrive, creating environments where children are safe and the quality of practice drives change that helps children and families bounce back from adversity. Supported by an excellent workforce development programme, you will lead a team of social workers driving excellence in practice whilst developing and refining your expertise and experience in management. You will support and drive forward interventions for the most vulnerable children subject to statutory safeguarding plans and within the legal arena. The aim of the Family Service is to ensure that all children and young people in Barnet achieve the best possible outcomes and to enable them to become successful adults, especially our most vulnerable children. They should be supported by high quality, integrated and inclusive services that identify additional support needs early, are accessible, responsive and affordable for the individual child and their family. We Offer Support and Training: • Access to systemic training. • In house learning and development team with up to date training and emerging themes and resilience models. • In house Mental Health teams allocated to work within your team and support your work. • Manageable caseloads within small teams and all on one floor making communication effective. • Practice Development Workers to assist with decision making as well as reflective and group supervision meetings. • Work-life balance options may include flexi-time, job-share, homeworking. • Training to Practice Educator status. In addition to the salary quoted this salary attracts an additional 17% of base salary if you opt for a lower cost pension scheme. Salary range is therefore £71,158 - £79,338. About you You will have: • In depth knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework and polices in relation to safeguarding children • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in writing assessments and plans for young people • Proven experience in demonstrating your impact on families in achieving positive outcomes for children and influence the professional networks that you work with. • Innovative and positive engagement with children and families in their assessments and plans and a passion for delivery of high quality services and interventions to vulnerable children in partnership with a wide range of agencies. • Regrettably we cannot accept applications from those who do not hold recognised social work qualifications.
