The Role:
Traid is seeking an innovative and driven Retail Manager to lead our busy, vibrant stores through an exciting new phase of their journey. Building on Traid’s recent brand refresh, we’re redesigning our shops and improving the way we process donated clothing, and this role will be central to these changes.
The Retail Manager will implement new training programmes, empowering our retail team to excel. By reinvigorating our retail operations, you’ll ensure our stores deliver an outstanding customer experience and you will foster a thriving workplace culture.
As a key member of the strategic Senior Management Team, the post holder will bring a sharp commercial mindset, with an eye for detail and the ability to interpret data effectively to drive informed decisions. Traid is a second-hand pioneer on a mission to change fashion for the better. One of London’s leading fashion charities, Traid is the only charity solely dedicated to advocating for a better fashion industry. Traid is purpose driven, with a mission to increase the wearing and buying of second-hand fashion over new. Traid raises its funds through a network of London charity shops that sustain our environmental work and fund global projects focused on how our clothes are made. To date, Traid has put 233 million garments back into use, saving 628,638 tonnes of CO2 and 106.6 million m3 of water. Traid’s global projects support garment workers, their families, and cotton farmers. Traid is a UK registered charity (297489).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement retail strategies to drive sales and achieve business goals.
2. Lead and manage a team of retail managers and staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
3. Analyse market trends and customer behaviour to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
4. Monitor and feedback on product ensuring the best offering for customers, feeding back on warehouse deliveries, fashion trends, pricing and customer profiles.
5. Oversee compliance with company policies and regulations.
6. Drive initiatives to enhance the customer experience, including store layout, visual merchandising, and customer service.
7. Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve retail performance in terms of profitability, stock levels, theft, etc.
8. Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and emerging retail technologies.
9. Work with the CEO to further develop Traid’s strategic direction and brand awareness.
10. Ability to analyse and report on figures and data.
11. Identify and deliver exciting retail experiences and events.
Essentials:
1. Previous multi-site management experience.
2. Experience managing over 100 staff, with 13 direct reports, and proven people management skills.
3. A solid track record within retail with proven experience of leadership and a strong interest in second-hand and clothing.
4. Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and customer service.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. High level of retail analytical skills, including EPOS and conversion rates.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
