Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to contribute to a major new joint venture in the water industry? Our client, formed by two leading engineering contractors, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team for projects within the Southern Water region. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge water infrastructure projects and play a key part in delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the mechanical engineering aspects of water infrastructure projects from initial design to installation and commissioning.
2. Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure the integration of mechanical systems across all project stages.
3. Review and approve mechanical designs, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet client requirements and industry standards.
4. Oversee on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.
5. Provide technical expertise and troubleshoot any mechanical engineering issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and health & safety protocols.
7. Prepare detailed reports, project documentation, and progress updates to stakeholders.
Requirements:
8. Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably within the water sector or similar industries.
9. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, design principles, and regulatory standards.
10. Excellent project management and organisational skills, capable of overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
11. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
12. Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering) and professional certifications.
13. Familiarity with the Southern Water Framework or similar utility projects is an advantage.
