The incumbent of this position will exhibit lived experience of mental health treatment to work as a member of a community-based treatment team providing in-home services to clients with severe and persistent mental illness. This position is responsible for providing skill training, support, and education to help adults with serious and persistent mental illness become successful and satisfied in their living environment of choice. All services are provided as a part of a comprehensive treatment team. This position involves weekday afternoon/evening coverage for the ACT Team, with a potential for rotating on-call duty, overnights, and holidays, if needed. While the duties and responsibilities of this position are specific to the ACT program, direct services provided by the incumbent will encompass two separate programs; the Peer Recovery Specialist and ACT programs. In an effort to ensure fidelity to each program, collaborative supervision between the ACT Team Lead and the Peer Recovery Manager is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
* At least one year of experience in behavioral health services or with behavioral health populations, whether through previous employment or participation in services is required.
* Completion of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 72-hour peer-support training required.
* Peer Recovery Specialist certified and registered in the state of Virginia preferred; Certification with the Virginia Certification Board and Registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling must be completed within one year of hire is required.
* Must possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and the ability to provide own transportation as necessary to perform job duties.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* May be exposed to allergenic environments from client’s homes, including dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
* May be exposed to clients with infectious diseases.
* Must be able to drive for long periods of time to travel in and out of the catchment area as needed.
* Must be able to walk distances, climb and descend stairs, maneuver in and out of agency vehicles.
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds at times.
SALARY: Starting at $39,095
