Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury area. This will be as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team within a Group Practice delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to military personnel and trainees; the Group Practice is formed of six sites in the Portsmouth area and the physiotherapist may be required to work occasionally across the sites.
Job responsibilities
Duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
* To perform highly skilled physio-therapeutic assessment of patients by Consultants, General Practitioners and Physiotherapists with diverse presentations and complex and acute / chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
* To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
* To formulate, develop and deliver specialised individualised treatment programmes and exercise programmes based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
* Ensuring high standards of administration of physiotherapy care when referring patients to other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team both within the military system and external agencies.

Further Information
All employees joining the Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6 month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date.
Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

Person Specification

Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy plus specialist training or completed the relevant courses and experience that would be equivalent to graduate diploma level of study. Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Physiotherapist Up to date Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Salary: £35,392 to £42,618 a year (Per annum, pro-rata for part time).
