IT Support Engineer Hull £30k to £35k per annum…
Principal IT are proud to be working with a large manufacturing business based in Hull to help them secure a new IT Support Engineer to assist with the day-to-day running and support of operations within their business.
You will be working in a busy IT team that supports a number of business-critical systems and ensures that the business doesn't suffer any downtime due to system faults or failures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and install PCs and peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, mobiles, and tablets related to desktop infrastructure and in accordance with IT policies and standards.
2. Maintain PCs and peripheral devices with Planned Preventative Maintenance.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, networking, and peripheral technology.
4. Update the IT Helpdesk ticketing system by maintaining accurate records of actions taken, histories, and updating information on the system as required.
5. Create tickets to record technical issues and solutions, escalating issues to senior team members when necessary.
6. Manage ongoing patch and vulnerability management of company devices.
7. Continually add to the knowledge database to ensure all technical documentation is fully up to date and relevant.
8. Maintain a clean and tidy workplace environment.
9. Create strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
Personal Skill Requirements:
1. Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support, or similar.
2. Good language and communication skills.
3. Certifications in Microsoft/CompTIA/ITIL and Cisco would be advantageous.
4. Familiarity with Office 365, network troubleshooting, and MS Intune.
5. Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
6. Strong experience working with Microsoft Windows OS with some experience of Android/iOS.
7. Ability to work as part of a team.
