Venn Group is partnered with an education charity to recruit a Senior Finance Officer for a short-term interim contract. This role will provide essential support to the finance team in ensuring that financial transactions are accurately posted in preparation for management accounts and year-end.
Key responsibilities of the role:
1. Process and manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments
2. Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, and follow-up on overdue payments
3. Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies
4. Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate financial records
5. Approve invoices on Sicon, ensuring compliance with company procedures
6. Assist with VAT returns, ensuring accurate and timely submissions
7. Support month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations and journal entries
8. Ensure compliance with financial controls and assist with audit preparation
Essential candidate criteria:
1. AAT qualified or ACCA/CIMA part-qualified
2. Proven experience in a finance role within the charity sector
3. Familiarity with Sage 200, 50 Payroll, and Sicon/WAP
4. Highly reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented
Contract: Short-term interim contract, subject to further extension
Pay rate: £160 – £180 per day
Working hours: Full time
Working pattern: Hybrid (1 day per week in office)
Office location: Central London
