About the role As a Team Lead you will ensure that the employees in the department perform the roles assigned to them at every work shift. You will have a great level of knowledge and understanding of the processes, procedures, and equipment within the department area and will ensure that finished products and raw materials are receipted, stored and picked in in an efficient and appropriate manner in line with safety, quality and hygiene standards. You will also be confident in all related tasks and will effectively teach other employees on how to do these tasks effectively, whilst ensuring that the working areas are kept clean and tidy at all times in line with the Company’s “clean as you go” policy, managing the personal and business requirements of this policy to ensure Audit ready standards at all times. Working shift pattern is a rotation of early / late's on a weekly basis. Requirements Leadership & Supervision Supporting the induction and training of new production employees on the process workflows. To ensure that the established methods of operators and standards of output, quality and hygiene are known to all relevant operatives within the Department and are always adhered to. With direction from the Distribution Team Manager brief and organise the shift for daily and weekly tasks, managing priorities in line with business needs. Supervise and assist in internal and external order picking, building and loading to a high standard and in a safe and efficient manner. Supervise and assist in ensuring raw materials and packaging are receipted, labelled and stored in line with company and food safety procedures. Operations & Efficiency Aim to succeed and improve against departmental KPIs. ERP system understanding/s of stock control and management. Communication with production, quality and customer service team members via phone and email to address any issues arising. Operate various mechanical handling equipment in a safe manner and carry out daily checks as necessary. Health & Safety Work safely at all times in accordance with company Health & Safety policies, procedures, practices, and legislation. Ensure daily quality and safety checks (e.g. truck, temperatures, bait checks) are completed and signed off. Carry out cleaning schedules ensuring a high standard of hygiene is achieved, in addition to placing emphasis on a “clean as you go” policy, being always audit-ready. Quality Assurance Strive to attain best-in-class quality standards. Ensure that the warehouse is maintained in a tidy and hygienic condition Understanding of Non-conformance and Audit based Quality systems.
