We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry to work in a secure and dynamic healthcare environment in the York area.
The Role
This exciting opportunity involves leading clinical care for a newly developed, purpose-built ward designed for female secure patients. You will manage a caseload of 12 patients with full support from an experienced team, including non-medical prescribers, residential doctors, and dedicated administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the Responsible Clinician (RC) for patients within the medium secure women's service.
2. Provide leadership to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high standards of clinical care.
3. Participate in the non-residential on-call rota (1:7).
4. Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and teaching opportunities within the organisation.

What We're Looking For
To excel in this role, you will need:
1. Full GMC registration and revalidation compliance.
2. CCT (or equivalent) in Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry.
3. Experience working with women in secure services.
4. Strong leadership and communication skills to engage with colleagues and stakeholders effectively.
