Moderna is seeking an associate to support the laboratory operations with aspects such as clinical samples, reagents, consumables, and equipment management. The postholder will support the laboratory operations manager and sample manager with day-to-day activities of the laboratory. The position will report to the Associate Director of Laboratory Operations and Logistics.
This position is 100% on site during normal working day hours at our Harwell facility. Working outside contracted hours may be required from time to time, in accordance with the needs of the business.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Support the implementation of strategic lab operations objectives set by senior leadership.
2. Support the management of inventory by stocking and cataloging products.
3. Perform quality checks on consumables and discard if they do not meet the company’s standards.
4. Maintain compliance to regulations and training to SOPs.
5. Support the laboratory manager in maintaining laboratory equipment.
6. Participate in bio-specimen accessioning into LIMS.
7. Support the management of specimen storage at the appropriate temperature and location within the clinical biomarker laboratory.
8. Actively participate in the cleaning and decontamination of laboratory surfaces and equipment.
9. Participate in waste management to ensure waste is segregated according to the waste SOP.
10. The role may require lifting of packages up to 10 Kg.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
1. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in CRO, biomedical institution or pharmaceutical is preferred, although fresh graduates with a can-do mindset are encouraged to apply.
3. Knowledge of clinical laboratory material and specimen management is preferred.
4. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel and an aptitude for learning new digital tools is required.
5. Interpersonal and communication skills are key.
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to use judgement to escalate to managers is a must.
7. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work.
