We are delighted to offer this substantive Consultant Podiatric Surgeon opportunity within Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This post is for the equivalent of 15 hours per week.
We're seeking a dedicated Consultant Podiatric Surgeon to join our innovative team, providing expert surgical care to diabetic and vascular patients in Basildon Essex.
The EPUT Podiatric Surgery Team provides care for patients across South, East and North Herts and West Essex. We currently employ Consultant Podiatric Surgeons, a Registrar, a trainee and a staff Podiatrist.
The post holder will act mainly within the newly developing Multi-Disciplinary Foot Teams (MDFT) Acute foot pathway team and will include the assessment and treatment of patients as part of the development of Multi-Disciplinary Foot Teams within the community and acute trusts. Specific training and/or commensurate experience in the treatment of compromised patients is therefore essential.
In addition to holding and managing their own caseload, the post holder will support the Clinical Director, Service Director and Operational Lead. They will be responsible for the delivery of EPUT day case podiatric surgery services within a defined area, but with the ability to cover all areas where needed by service requirements.
Main duties of the job
* Lead and deliver outpatient and theatre sessions in conjunction with the diabetic and vascular consultants, managing a wide range of foot conditions.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalised treatment plans for patients in an acute setting.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
* Drive quality improvement and contribute to our commitment to delivering exceptional care.
Minimum Requirements
* A minimum of two years’ experience in diabetic/vascular setting undertaking foot salvage surgery as a lead surgeon.
* Degree in Podiatric Medicine.
* MSc Theory of Podiatric Surgery or equivalent.
* Podiatric Surgery annotation with the HCPC.
* Current registration with the HCPC.
* Non-Medical Independent Prescribing (NMIP).
* Current Immediate Life Support (ILS).
* Certificate of Completion of Podiatric Specialist Training (CCPST).
* Membership of the Royal College of Podiatry.
* Evidence of experience and training courses in diabetic salvage surgery.
