Due to our current growth, we are seeking to appoint a Procurement & Contracts Manager based out of our offices in either Melbourne (Doncaster) or Brisbane (Eight Mile Plains).
Reporting to the Group Manager, you will be responsible for leading the combined procurement, supply chain and logistics team to support pre-contracts and operations across Australia and PNG.
As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following:
* Ability to lead and manage procurement and logistics personnel and ensure they are complying with company policy and procedures, and best industry practices for driving value and maintaining integrity and competition.
* Ability to develop and implement procurement and contracting procedures and related forms (eg pre-qualification, bid evaluation and procurement status registers), including reviewing current procedures and forms against operations and best practices and make recommendations for process improvement.
* Experience in establishing, revising, monitoring and managing a procurement schedule to ensure packages are prepared and let in accordance with operational requirements.
* Ability to identify areas of improvement to continually drive performance and business results by driving value / lowering costs through procurement activities.
* Ability to analyse market trends and develop reporting to provide a better understanding of buying practices and improvement opportunities available to Nacap.
* Experience in developing vendor relationships and purchasing agreements to drive cost efficiency and improve overall vendor performance.
* Ability to develop strong internal relationships with the operations leadership team across pre-contracts and operations, to ensure procurement and logistics resources are being utilised efficiently to meet business needs.
* Ability to manage freight and logistics operators, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution across projects in Australia & Papua New Guinea.
* Ability to monitor inventory levels, including forecasting and demand planning to minimise excess inventory while ensuring stock is efficiently utilised to meet the demands of projects.
* Ability to implement training programs for all procurement and logistics staff and stakeholders on process and procedure changes and best practices for managing the procurement process.
What do you bring?
In addition to the above, we require an individual with:
* Minimum 10 years + extensive experience in contract & procurement management within civil construction, oil and gas renewables or resource industries.
* Experience in developing and implementing best practice procurement and contract management frameworks, governance, and methodologies.
* Tertiary qualifications in supply chain management, operations management, contract management, commerce or law or equivalent.
* Minimum of 10 years + demonstrated people management skills in procurement and logistics, including career development, succession planning, and change management.
* Strong commercial background with understanding of the nuances in negotiation to help a bid team win new business, whilst balancing risk and governance.
* Sound knowledge of The Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation under Heavy Vehicle National Law with loading and receiving goods, and reporting under the Modern Slavery Act.
